Description

Providing for children’s safety is a major responsibility for all early education centers. Safety concerns range from accidents involving injury to emergency evacuation of the building. Safety concepts and issues need to be addressed by early education staff every day. Early education centers should have written policies regarding safety issues. Early education staff must know the policies involving safety issues and be prepared to carry them out.

3. Answer multiple choice questions regarding elements of an emergency plan, staff
responsibilities for implementing emergency plans, resources for crisis management, and
criteria for effective emergency procedures.

4. Answer questions about the need for professionalism in responding to families’ concerns
about safety situations.

5. Answer questions about staff responsibilities in injury situations.

6. Reflect on safety services available from the Oklahoma Warm Line. (Assignment Sheet 2)

7. Respond to scenarios involving professionalism in responding to emergency situations.
