I am Moving I am Learning (IMIL) is a proactive approach for preventing obesity in children. The goals of IMIL are to increase the quantity of time spent in moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) during daily routines to meet guidelines for physical activity, to improve the quality of structured movement experiences intentionally facilitated by adults and to promote healthy nutrition choices. In this session, you will learn how to be intentional in planning engaging Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA) for children so they have opportunities to learn new skills while they engage in healthy movement. MVPA can be infused into what is already happening in the classroom.
