By completing the course handout and successfully answering assessment questions, participants will meet the following objectives as a result of taking this course:

Define dialogue and understand the role it plays in the art of conversation; Identify the characteristics of direct communication; Name three levels of listening; Identify external/internal motivators that are utilized to heighten leadership effectiveness; Define elements within the workplace that are tied to employee happiness that directly effect job performance; Explain why it is not always possible to provide clear job expectations in the child care environment; Identify the differences in leadership styles between men and women; Identify appropriate reactions to handling negative dynamics in the workplace, namely gossip; Identify ways to show appreciation to the team as a whole when goals are met and progress is noted.
