Description

This course follows the educator training program developed by Jim Fay and Charles Fay, Ph.D. The training consists of 9 separate modules, each of which teaches a different subset of skills. Each of these skill subsets is taught through a variety of media and strategies.

Goals and Objectives

This course has been designed to help participants learn skills for:
1. Creating environments that stimulate responsible behavior.
2. Preventing misbehavior and increasing time on task.
3. Avoiding power struggles while setting limits with challenging children.
4. Teaching character and responsibility through the application of logical consequences instead of punishment.
5. Developing positive, cooperative relationships with even the most difficult children and their parents.
6. Preserving the learning environment when one or more students become disruptive and unresponsive to preventive discipline.
