This is a two session training. Trainings will be Feb 4 and 18th, 6:30 pm - 8:30pm both evenings. Participants must attend both sessions to receive training credit. Due to limited space, registration is required, no walk ins. This is a professional development opportunity, please make alternate arrangements for childcare.

Using the brain model from Conscious Discipline participants will be introduced to new skills and techniques necessary for adults to stay in control of themselves and to guide children to learn self regulation. Small groups will be utilized for skill-building activities to reinforce assertive communication, offering two positive choices, and making connections by using I Love You Rituals with children.

Goals and Objectives

1. Explore our own patterns of child management and where they originate.

2. Define the differences between positive and negative discipline.

3. Identify the four major types of temperament in children.

4. Identify key developmental characteristics of children.

5. Use clear and assertive communication techniques so children learn that their words are more powerful than their hands.

6. Give children two positive choice.

7. Implement the use of I Love You Rituals.
